I have a painting that I believe to be valuable … where can I email pictures?

Hello. Let me know where I can e-mail photos a painting that I believe in the value. I want to get the opinion of someone who is experienced with paintings and antiques. The painting was given to a deceased parent Courter by someone who was rich from theirs in 1977. The paint has a dry and not wet look, is surrounded by a wooden frame and a white male dressed in what looks to wear 17th century. He is standing with his hand on top of a bust of a old man. The bust ends in the chest. The hand of man is at the top of the head completely white bust / statue that sits on a table. Thank you for your Help!

Sothebys and Christies are very good, but they are less likely to give you an answer simply by looking at a photograph. What you should do is check your local yellow pages or ask a local galleries, if they know of an auction house for art in the region. auction houses have evaluators. if you contact them before going to your table, you will not have to do much more than running around. They also say you if there is a better place to get your paint job looked. if more than one place to get your painting valued then I would. Do not let them know that you go to multiple places. This way you will know if a place is is trying to sham. especially if they want you pay for a certificate of authenticity (which is a load of bull hocky and worthless). good luck!
